How we use AI

Artificial intelligence speeds up our work. It never has the last word.

Where we use AI

  • Gathering references and summarising existing scholarship, as a starting point for research.
  • Preparing first drafts of articles, scripts and translations.
  • Narration: our documentaries and reels are narrated with an AI-generated voice.
  • Visuals: some scenes in our films are generated or animated with AI tools, alongside stock footage and photographs.

Where we do not

  • AI does not decide what a verse or ḥadīth means, or how a ḥadīth is graded.
  • AI does not have the final word on any text we publish or deliver.
  • We never publish a quotation, reference or date supplied by AI without checking it against its source, because AI tools can invent all three.

Review

AI-assisted work is reviewed by a scholar trained in Arabic and the classical Islamic sciences. Until that review is complete, the page is labelled as a draft.

Texts sent to us

Texts sent to us for translation may be processed with AI tools while the draft is prepared. If your text must not be processed this way, tell us, and we will work without them.
